Which Is The Best Search Engine?

That is partly a matter of taste and partly dependant on what you are looking for. Over time, you may find that you return to the same search engine again and again. Obviously, that engine is the best for you.

Some search engines allow you to limit your searches to only websites within a given country. That can be rather handy if you're looking for a shop or service that's relatively close at hand. Others allow you to expand your search across the entire Web - useful for finding the latest international research information. Some engines, known as meta-search engines, take your keywords and pass them onto six or more search engines and then collate all the various results for you - which can save time. Probably the most well-known search engine, Yahoo!, isn't a search engine at all. It's a directory - rather like a telephone directory - so you can browse through various categories such as Entertainment or Business.

Ultimately, it really doesn't matter how the various engines actually work. What matters is how you use them and how useful they are to you. The best advice I can give is that you try a number of different search engines until you find one, or a couple, which you prefer.
